Our future plans

Now that our redesign is complete, some are wondering what are we going to do now that our design is finally completed.  Many have wondered if we were going to dismantle the site because we haven’t updated the site since April.  First, we are not leaving.  We just felt like we should spend all of our time developing the site then working and redeveloping the site at the same time.  Now that the design is done, we can now announce the future of our site.  We rather announce our plans here before they get leaked to TechCrunch.

Even though our design is completed, our site will be in beta while we add more items to the site.  The basic design (front page, comments, blog posts) is completed.  When we add new items, we’re afraid the new features will break the site.  That’s why we’ll be in beta until everything is working and the features don’t break the look-and-feel of the site.  Anyway, here’s are plans for adding new features to the site.  We will be adding the new features in the following order.

  • Social Networks

Currently we are only on Facebook and Twitter.  You can follow us on Twitter @controlalttv.  We will use Twitter to announce new blog posts as well as ask tech questions for public responses, announce new features on the site and feed tech news to the Twitter feed.  Our Facebook page has a complicated URL because we don’t have 100 followers to get the special URL.  We will be working on having Facebook users log in to comment on posts as well as syncing comments left on our blog posts to Facebook and vice versa.  We’ll also add the same features on Facebook to MySpace and other social networks as well.  Some social networks that we are considering are Bebo, LinkedIn and maybe Plurk.

  • Videos

Video clips will be added to the site as well.  We will use video to show product reviews and anything else for video form.  We don’t know if we’ll do a live show but we will keep that option open.  The biggest use of video will be use for or main feature for the site.

  • Helpline

We have a Google Voice number that will allow people will call in (or text) their comments, suggestions or hate towards us.

These are just some of the new items we will add in the future to the site.  Now that the redesign is finished, we can finally take the site to new levels.
