This document sets out AltTV’s commitment to your privacy; the protection of personal data (the “Data”) collected and processed in connection with your use of the Website.
1. Data collected
We do not collect data from registration forms however your IP address is used by our analytic programs, Google and Quantcast. Your IP address is also recorded when you leave a comment on our site. This is only used for blocking users that input inappropriate comments. We do not sell your information to third-party sites. We also ask users that leave a comment to supply an active email address to verify that the user is active and not spamming our site. We also use affiliate programs that may or may not collect information about your computer through tracking programs (“cookies”). IP addresses, Operating System, Browser and other information is collected by third-party programs. AltTV only collects email addresses if users decide to leave a comment and IP addresses. The information provided to AltTV is only used for content regulation (“blocking comment spam” and “users that abuse the site”). Please note that whether or not you are a registered user, the Website may implement an automatic tracking process (cookie), which you may block by changing your browser settings.
2. Purpose of processing
Data automatically collected by the Website allows us to compile statistics on web page visits through our third-party analytic programs (“Google Analytics” and “Quantcast”) as well as our internal program (“AWStat”). We do not sell information collected to third-parties.
3. Data recipients
Your data is not transmitted to third parties. However, AltTV may release Data if the law requires it to do so or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with state and federal laws or respond to a court order, subpoena, or search warrant or to protect AltTV’s rights and interests. We will attempt to contact the user if a court order, subpoena, or search warrant has been issued but if the user does not respond, we will release the data to those that ask for it. We will cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies.
4. Data security
AltTV values the importance of your Data, and we will take all appropriate measures to limit the risk that it may be lost, damaged or misused.
5. Data retention
Data is stored on the premises of our webhosting company, HostGator and is kept only as long as necessary for the purposes set out above. After that point, data is kept only for statistical purposes and shall not be used for any other reason.
6. Disclosure Information
We do not disclose any personal information obtained about you from this website to third parties. If at any time in the future we should wish to disclose information collected on this website to any third party, it would only be with your knowledge and consent.
We may from time to time provide information of a general nature to third parties – for example, the number of individuals visiting our website or completing a registration form, but we will not use any information that could identify those individuals.
7. Changes to policy
Any changes to our Privacy Policy/Terms of Service will be placed here and will supersede this version of our Policy. We will take reasonable steps to draw your attention to any changes in our Policy. However, to be on the safe side, we suggest that you read this document each time you use the website to ensure that it still meets with your approval.
