AltTV, formally ControlAltTV and Control Alt Delete, was founded in August 2005 by three people that wanted to show others their technology experiences. Podcasting was a new medium that was taking off and we wanted to get in on the action. Hurricane Katrina changed our initial plans and instead of hosting a podcast about technology-related news, we were a blog posting news bites from New Orleans media outlets like WWL-TV and WDSU-TV.
Several months after the storm passed, we tried to regroup and attempt the podcast again. Scheduling conflicts, commitment to the site and dealing with the effects of Katrina were the main reasons we shelved the site in 2006.
In 2007, we relaunched the site. From 2007 to today, the website went through several changes including a new name – AltTV.
AltTV is dedicated to covering the technology and media sector in the gulf coast region. We also cover start-ups in the region as well.
